Zorg

SAMA Autism Centrum offers treatment to children ranging from 4 to 12 year. We work in a diverse and inclusive environment, in which there's space for different backgrounds, languages and cultures. Each child is seen as unique and approached with respect, safety and autism sensitivity in mind.

We attach a lot of value to an environment where children feel seen, understood and safe so they can develop optimally.

Vision for the future and goals

Our vision shows a future in which children with autism can easily partake in schools and social environments. The SAMA method is aimed at strengthening skills and resilience, so children can develop within an inclusive environment.

We bridge the gap between treatment, school and daily life, so children can really develop skills that apply outside of the treatment setting.

Our most important goals are:

  1. Preparing children to succesfully function in school and group enviornments

  2. Improve social skills and resilience

  3. Improve independence and autonomy

  4. Actively and structally involving families with the treatment process

Group treatment

Within the groups therapy we work using the SAMA method, children practice social interaction, working together and daily skills in a structured and safe environment. Besides that children prepare to go to school, by learning to follow instructions, handling structure and rules, working independently and functioning within a group. The guidance connects to developmental needs of the child and support applying skills to daily life.

Parent training

The parent training is a mandatory part of the treatment at SAMA, by actively including parents we make sure that children get guidance and support while at home and in day to day life.

Parents recieve a individdual parent training once a month, in which focus will be laid on the specific needs of your child. Besides that once a month parents join a parent workshop, in which themes about autism, development and raising your child will be central.

"Together we ensure theres continuity and predictability."
